What is "TrackMaster"?
"TrackMaster" is a track drawer provided by Gandi IDE. It provides a visual interface for users to intuitively draw and adjust tracks. Users can also set the motion time to control the speed of character movement. With this tool, users can create custom character motion paths, giving them unique animation effects.
What scenarios can TrackMaster be used in?
Scenario 1
Setting the atmosphere - Setting the atmosphere is very important, especially in the context of creating a work. For example, let's say the scene of your work is a large garden, and you might want to add some butterflies and bees to the picture to add liveliness. At this time, the TrackMaster tool can be very convenient in helping you achieve this idea.
By using TrackMaster, you can easily control the movement of bees and butterflies. You can set their paths, speeds, and flight modes, allowing them to freely fly in the picture. In this way, the irregular movements of butterflies and bees will effectively set the atmosphere of the garden, making the whole scene more lively and interesting.
Not only that, TrackMaster also makes your creative process more flexible and free. You can adjust the movement trajectory of bees and butterflies at any time according to your creativity and needs, allowing them to better adapt to the atmosphere and emotions you want to express.
In summary, TrackMaster is a tool that can conveniently control the movement of bees and butterflies. Through it, you can easily set the atmosphere of your work and make your creation more lively and interesting.
Scenario 2
NPC animation - In games, sometimes we hope that non-playable characters (NPCs) or non-interactive objects can also move to add liveliness to the visuals. However, making their actions look less stiff is a challenge. This is where the TrackMaster tool comes in handy.
Using the TrackMaster tool, we can design different motion trajectories for different objects, giving them unique movements. For example, for a bird, we can design an elegant flight path, allowing it to freely soar in the game scene; for a train, we can plan a loop route for it to slowly travel on the tracks. By designing unique trajectories for each object, we can make the whole picture more lively and interesting.
In addition, we can also use the same trajectory to control the movement of multiple objects. For example, in a farm scene, we can use the same trajectory to control the movement of multiple chicks, allowing them to move in a regular pattern in the scene. In this way, each object in the picture is moving according to the predetermined trajectory, creating a harmonious and interesting atmosphere.
Through the use of the TrackMaster tool, we can design different trajectories for different objects, and also use the same trajectory to control the movement of multiple objects, creating a vivid and rich game picture. This meticulous animation effect will bring players a more immersive gaming experience and make the whole game world more lifelike."
How to use?
Step 1: Install TrackMaster from the Gandi Extension Library.
Step 2: Open the drawing track popup
Step 3: Drawing the trajectory.
In the drawing area, hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse. You will see a series of circles representing different positions. The character will move based on these points. Therefore, you can specify the direction of the character's movement by drawing points at the corresponding positions.
Please note that the speed of moving the mouse will affect the number of points generated. Moving the mouse quickly will generate fewer points, while moving the mouse slowly will generate more points. This way, you can control the movement path of the character more accurately.
If you are not satisfied with the drawn trajectory, don't worry, we provide two buttons: redraw and edit trajectory. By clicking on the redraw or edit trajectory button, you can adjust the trajectory to achieve the desired effect.
If the entire trajectory is significantly different from your expectations, choose to redraw to start over. If there are only some parts that you are not satisfied with, choose to edit the trajectory. In edit mode, you can move the mouse to the red dot, hold down the left mouse button, and drag the red dot to the desired position. In addition, holding down the right mouse button will bring up the menu bar to select delete this point.
With these editing functions, you can adjust the trajectory as needed to ensure that the character moves according to your intentions in the game.
The right-click menu provides an option to split the trajectory, allowing you to split the trajectory into a maximum of 6 different trajectories. After splitting the trajectory, the unselected trajectories will be displayed as gray lines. By clicking on these lines, you can switch to the currently selected trajectory. On the left side, you will see corresponding trajectory buttons, clicking on them can also toggle the selection status. When the mouse hovers over the trajectory, an operation panel will pop up, where you can individually set the duration of the trajectory, redraw the trajectory, or delete the trajectory, etc.
By performing these operations, you can make adjustments during the drawing process to achieve the desired trajectory effect. After finishing the drawing, click the "OK" button to add a new trajectory variable to the current project.
Step 4 Run trajectory
Provides two types of running trajectory animation blocks, one can control the duration of the entire animation, and the other can control the speed of the entire animation.
Step 5 Preview | Edit Track If you forget what the track looks like or want to fine-tune the track, click the Edit Track button to enter the editing popup window.
We provide the function of marking points, such as moving to a certain place, and hoping that the character can say "hello". This can be achieved using marking.
After marking, the dots will become blue solid dots, and the marking content will be displayed when hovered.
